What We Do

The Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown is proud to participate in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children both locally and worldwide. We believe that by working together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those around us and create a brighter future for all.

In addition to our service work, we also host speakers at our weekly meetings to explore topics of interest to our membership. These talks cover a range of subjects that help us stay informed and connected to the world around us.

But it’s not all work and no play at our club! We also engage in a number of social activities that allow us to share experiences, talents, and our collective interests. These activities provide great opportunities for service, friendships, and personal growth. At the Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown, we believe that by coming together and serving our community, we can create a better world for all.

Our small organization makes a significant impact on the community:

• Sandwiches are made throughout the year for children who do not have enough to eat at home, which in some cases provides their only evening meal
• Participate in school events throughout our community
• We provide care boxes to community schools supplying soap, toothpaste, deodorant, clothing, and more, as part of our annual Kiwanis Cares Essential Items Drive
• Participate in the Micah’s Backpack Distribution program
• We provide socks to every school in Washington County, Maryland, and non-profit organizations through our annual Kiwanis Cares Sock Drive
• Participate in the United Way Day of Caring
• Host an annual Children’s Christmas Party

These achievements demonstrate how much we can accomplish when we work together towards a common goal. We invite you to join us as we support each other as members of humanity in the truest sense of the word.

Key Club College Scholarships

Our Kiwanis club raises funds for Key Club college scholarships every year through our Rose Day fundraiser.

Key Club Sponsorships

Our Kiwanis club supports Key Club service projects, facilitate the Key Club meetings, provide mentorships and provide college scholarships for the Key Club students. We are currently sponsoring the following Kiwanis Key clubs:

• Barbara Ingram School for the Arts, Hagerstown, MD – inactive
• South Hagerstown High School, Hagerstown, MD – inactive
